down south

hats off to melz9!

home-cooked (quasi) peranakan food. loveleh.
girl, u'd make someone a great wifey someday. hyok hyok.

one rochester - a lovely converted colonial bungalow.
the patio's very nicely done up with lush greens and cosy pavillions.
the decor upstairs is sumptuous but they were doing "intensive cleaning" so didnt snap pixs.
man, i wanna live here!

peperoni pizzeria that had these GIANT portobello mushrooms topped with chicken (i know, ?) and arugula.
GIANT as in at least 6" diameter.

fantastic italian! located in some obscure residential part of the west. cosy, yummy food and great service. mostly families, hermes-toting tai tais and for some reason, jap tourists (or expat wives?). apparently a great date place cos at nite u get to dine al fresco by the mid-sized monsoon drain in the moonlight/candlelight and gaze into one another's eyes while trying, surreptitiously, to swat mozzies nibbling at your legs under the table. so romantic, rite?

fun fun trip. guess familiar faces makes all the difference. usually there isnt much to do down south, tho melz9 took care of that alrite. :)

got to meet up with tons of people this time round. including some i hadnt seen in yeeeeeears who happened to be in town when i was. and 4 days zipped past, just like that.

till the next pilgrimage...
