limbo

when i met spot for the first time, i thot she was kinda quiet, serious even. also, thot she looked a tad nervous. reckon it was the way she kept looking at her hands, clasped in front of her, occasionally peering up as she talked. like most people, once she warmed up to u, she became more chatty, more approachable. u finally see the wit behind that quiet demeanour.

reticent in person bt oh so voluble on paper! or screen rather. i read her blog for the first time the other day and was surprised.

the v o l u m e of words she churns out. verbal diarrhea.

and she's got a gf. and i don't mean good fren.

her blog's anonymous. no mention of names or faces and until recently ( i read in reverse chronology), there wasn't even a mention of her gender identity. but even tho the contents are written with abandon, she doesn't come across an exhibitionist. the best i can describe it is discrete; how can u not be in this socially close-minded part of the world?

i'm impressed and if anything, in awe.

by her boldness. in sharing the blog with me, despite not knowing me very well. i can't even bring myself to share my blog, which is a lot less controversial, with people who know the face behind these words but whom are not good friends. even tho i don't exactly spill my innermost thots here, there is somehow that feeling of vulnerability if discovered.

and of her relationship with her other half. i think i'm guilty of certain pre-conceptions that such relationships are "different". she's not the only one i know, but for the others, s-e-x is often paramount in conversations. i had never really thot about it but i just realised, i saw such relationships as different from the heterosexual types. not in a gd/bad way, but just mmm...alternative. why's that, i wonder?

as i read her blog, it hit me that they're just two ordinary folks in an extraordinary relationship. they maneuver thro the mundanities of life, avoiding the potholes of stigma and prejudices, spurred on by a growing and mutual love and respect for each other.
they are so clearly in love. ( yes, i actually gleaned that from reading. i guess it helps that she's lucid in thot and eloquent in expression)

amor vincit omnia
. such a romantic notion. but so real for them.

*wistful sigh*
